this is a great advise. Programming is absolutely necessary skill for the next generation. The train is going! You either jump in or stay behind. Your choice. Nobody cares.
I went to the local college for 2 years and graduated with computer programming (at the age of 54).

Good advice, Bryan … the comment should be suffixed with “in Chinese”.

Funny he didn’t say “own a stable of programmers who do the work for you while you profit the most.”
Guess he’s just trying to line up more employees for the future….

Learning whatever is the current equivalent of a basic skill set for the present era like MS Word, How to Program (which programming language? Pascal? C Programming? HTML?) is always worth doing so that you have a basic skill set. It’s not just the job skill, it’s the contemporary mindset.

It occurs to me that “Find a need and fill it” would probably be a valuable subject to study in school-an actual course. Rather than spend $50,000 on an education to get a degree that may earn you $35,000-$45,000/year, maybe “Find a need and fill it” would open up more possibility than “a job”.
Just a thought.
It’s interesting, what the work community needs.
Looking forward to tomorrow!

I really love what I do but there are times I wish I’d gone into the world of computers and programming!
